This tutorial is for a Gibson Girl Edwardian up-do.
Let’s begin.
Step one ~ Part the front section of your hair beginning from behind your ears to the top of your head on both sides, make sure the section is neatly brushed on the top and underneath.
Step two ~ Pull the section up and start smoothing the ends upwards but don’t smooth from the roots of the hair or it will loose its volume.
ย Step three ~ Hold the front section in the middle with your hand then play around with the section to get the right shape for your puff.
Step four ~ Replace where your hand was with a hair tie (make sure your hair tie rests on or near the crown of your head when you lie it down).
This is what you should have:)
Step five ~ With the rest of your hair brush it up towards the top of your head (make sure it’s nice and smooth).
Step six ~ Hold the two sections together making sure the back of your hair has a nice puff.
Step seven ~ While still holding the section twist it around itself into a bun.
Step eight ~ Pin around your bun.
Step nine ~ Lightly brush your hair upwards all around your do.
Step ten ~ If your hair is looking flat in some sections tug at them with the end of a rat tail comb or with your fingers.
Yay! We’re done you now have a lovely little Edwardian hair do. . .
…which is lovely from the side…
…and from the back.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial <><

Thank you!!
Thank you so much for posting this. I have been looking unsuccessfully for a tutorial for this kind of hairdo. I love Victorian and Edwardian hairstyles, fashion and jewellery. My hair is getting quite long and it is very thick and this hairdo is perfect.

Thank you so much for a Gibson girl technique that I can do with over 3 feet of hair! I suddenly feel more dramatic! Haha!
Hi. Very beautiful and easy, I wish I could do that but my hair is straight and thin, if I pull my hair too much it hurts my scalp…but I love it in you.
Its very late victorian too as well I suppose/ cross over to Edwardian? or carrying on into Edwardian..
